I'm ready to get back into SEO now and wanted to know what's working and what isn't. Here is what I've gleaned from reading many different posts, please tell me if I am on the right track:
Money site -
Best to only use only hand created high quality links, blog comments, web 2.0's, etc.
No need to build thousands of links to your money site anymore and doing so could actually do more harm than good.
Links to your money site should come from relevant blogs as much as possible.
You should do a mix of follow/no follow and also a mix of anchor text.
Secondary Links -
It's ok (and recommended?) to blast your web 2.0's and other links with lots of lower quality links and this will help your money site since you are not blasting your actual money site with links, you are building links to your links. True?
On Page -
It seems like the On-Page experience is almost the new SEO? Yes, you still need some links but on page SEO and site quality will be the key factor to success as long as you do have some links as described above?
Please tell me if I am right on or totally wrong in your opinion. I'd love to hear thoughts on this and what you think is the current best practices, especially for link building these days. Is it even useful and financially worth it to purchase UD or Senuke type programs now or is there a better way? Would it be more beneficial to just focus on the on-site stuff and not worry about getting too many links?
Looking forward to hearing everyone's input, thanks!
